We moved into the area a few years ago and this pool has been a regular summer day out for our family since. It will be a great shame to see it closed forever. You certainly get our support to fight to keep it open. Good luck with the business plan.

Looking at the success of Hampton, why cant we achieve the same. Lidos were always a way of kids getting together and having fun. With some kids now complaining theres nothing for them to do, it would be ashame to withdraw yet another valuable resource to the community. Making it affordable, fun and giving people a sense of communtiy can only be for the best in these times. Good luck!!
Just fitting in a paddling pool for little children would be a big draw, look how popular Watlington is, I have friends who go over there to camp, children can play in paddling pools more and parents can have more of a rest! What about having it for roller skating out of season? Cafe etc could still all be used.
Very best of luck with your cause. It will ultimately benefit all of the community. The retractable roof idea is excellent.
Your business plan is ambitious but achievable. Having a retractable roof would really help it take off. Best of luck.

We enjoy this pool and use it a great deal when the weather is warm,it would be very sad to see it close
I grew up using an open air Lido in Nottingam and still have very vivid memories of some great days there. The space later became vandalised and seemed a symbol for lack of caring. If Handy Cross is ever rebuilt can't it be a condition of lease that Holywell is included in the upkeep? Or when some planning is passed - contributions to the fund welcome?
It would tragedy to see it dissapear.
Good luck with the cause!
Good luck with the cause!
There is nothing quite like swimming in a large outdoor pool. It is something everyone should experience. The euphoria of a summer swim or a dip in chillier months - both are delicious in their own way. If Holywell Mead were reopened our family would definitely use it. The more months it was open for the more times we would visit.
It would be devastating to lose this pool - we've had such great times there & look forward to going every summer - even in the rain!
