Spent many happy days at the outdoor pool when I was a child and even worked there for a while during university holidays. Would be so sad to see it closed so keep up the good work and best of luck with the campaign!

I loved this pool when I was growing up and was so sad to see it closed today. All the best in the fight to keep it open - it would be a sad loss. Such a lovely place.

I have some fantastic memories when I was younger of using this pool with a group of friends. I now have my own child and on a lovely hot day would have loved to have taken him to this pool.

Our family is so upset that this gorgeous pool has been closed. We spent so many happy, healthy hours here during school holidays. One of the best facilities in the area by far!

I think good marketing is key - when I moved to the area I saw the swimming pool but assumed it was closed as it was all shut up for the winter with no information - so it took me a while to realise it was open in the Summer - and even then was very difficult to find information about opening times facilities etc - I didn't see any advertising about it. Unless people live very close they just arn't going to make the trip on the off chance it might be open. Keep up the good work - I was dissapointed when I heard about the closure - it would be so great to be able to use the pool next year!

You are doing amazing work for a great cause : keep on pushing to ensure the future of Holywell Mead. My brother and I swam there as children. My own children have spent many happy hours there . At High March School we fought for 5 years to secure planning to allow our own school pool to be built and used after school for galas and training for future generations of children. Holywell can and should be saved .

It would be great if there was a notice or - better still - a large banner across the pool doors publicising the efforts being made by this group to get the pool opened again. There are a lot of people turning up at the pool expecting it to be open and very disappointed to find locked doors... especially during this warm weather.

In the economic climate, not to mention the present very hot climate it is ridiculous that we are in a situation, where families do not have access to an outside pool as we all did back in the 1970's ...an inexpensive healthy way for social gathering and fitness.
The council made the mistake of covering up the wonderful Roman floor, which would have attracted visitors.... dont make a greater error in closing this much needed facility.
