We spent nearly everyday of our 6 weeks school holiday at this pool, and at weekends when we were at school. my family and i had fantastic times here now i want to be able to have fun times with my children here.
Outdoor swimming is the best and the pool needs to stay open. sos many people use it.

I am so glad that there are residents in Wycombe who stand up for protecting services, despite the short sightedness and lack of imagination of our local authorites.
We did it with Micklefield Library and we can do it with the pool - a bigger and better service for everyone. Thanks to all those involved.

perhaps if less was taken out of the council budget to cover such expenditure as expenses free parking and other such perks enjoyed by our council there would be be more money in our coffers for our civic amenities such as Holywell Mead pool which is a benefit for the whole community not just a few.
I would like to add my voice against the closure of the Holywell Mead Open Air Swimming pool. This place holds a great memory for my wife and myself as during the summer of 1962 it was here that I first met my wife and now being married for forty years this October, we are both very upset. The pool is a great meeting place for the young and old alike especilly during those sunny summer months. The climate is now changing and this place would be use more and more....Think of all who would love it to be around for many, many years to come. I believe you would find it hard to trace many people who wound say close it.
THINK OF ALL THOSE WHO COME AFTER US.

Sadly if the Hollywell Mead pool remains closed, local families will not be able to enjoy one of the best forms of exercise there is. With the current trend of obesity and diabetis within young children and teenagers it does not make sense to take away from them an inexpensive and fun form of exercise. As a Pilates teacher I always recommend swimming to my clients.
The social benefits must be taken into account as well. This will give youngsters a safe place for recreation instead of sitting infront of computers or standing on street corners.
As a youngster in Surrey, my Summer Sundays were always spent at the local Lido with family and friends and picnics. So it could bring back the family tradition which is sadly lacking at present.
Good luck with your campaign.

With the goverment so concerned about obesity in the yooung it seems very shortsighted to close a facility enjoyed by so many youngsters as can be seen during the summer holidays any time at the pool.
Good luck with the campaign - one of the better features of High Wycombe is the Rye and its outdoor 'lido'. We strongly feel that it should remain as a facility.
I have always used this pool and it's an ideal inexpensive place to take kids for the day when the weather is good, which at the moment has to be a good thing?
I used to take my children there when they were in school. Now I look forward to taking my grandchildren there.
I enjoy outdoor swimming and would love the pool to reopen.
