With the recession really hitting home this year and so many families being unable to afford holidays - the outdoor pool would have been the ideal place for families to enjoy the summer holidays and physical activity and fresh air simultaneously. This is a classic example of the 'powers-that-be' NOT being in touch with the general public, the residents of Wycombe. Most activities during the summer holidays are costly or not particularly healthy, eg watching films and eating popcorn. What could be better than packing a picnic and spending the day at an outdoor pool? Children amused, making friends and exercising - parents not stressed. Maybe the 'powers-that-be' need a trip back to 'the shop floor'. I suggest they spend time with families during the looming May school holidays and witness how costly and stressful it can be trying to keep the children amused etc

Really hope the campaign works and well done to those involved trying to save an important feature of the town.
It seems incredible to me that there is any doubt about the future of this pool. Who is in charge of these decisions? They must be couch potatoes!! As a student my budget doesn't quite stretch to that of Lydia Poole but I'd be quite happy to spend a £100 for membership of this wonderful unique resource. It is a part of our local heritage that must not be lost.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS NEWS. OUT DOOR POOLS ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN AND OUR GIRLS LOVED GOING DOWN THERE AND AS A CHILD I USED THE OUTDOOR POOL IN MY HOME TOWN. PLEASE LEAVE IT AS IT IS - WELL MAYBE GIVE IT A CLEAN UP AND LICK OF PAINT - BUT LETS NOT LOSE IT PLEASE.

Outdoor pools are few and far between and a great slice of my childhood memories! The pool should not be closed!
They cannot close this pool! It has a wonderful atmosphere and as others have said, it is one of few affordable healthy locations where families can go for a day out. have swum there on early mornings too on many an occasion and had a totally different experience from an indoor swim. not knocking the indoor pools, but swimming on your back looking at the sky really does it every time! gives wycombe more of a soul.

I really think this pool should be saved. My family have enjoed many days out there over the years and we were looking forward to taking our granddaughter there as well so I hope this is s promise we can fulfil.

This is a great place to take the children during the summer and should NOT be closed!
Surely we can come to some arangemnt to stop its closure!
Its a part of Wycombes history and should be preserved and kept 'Alive'!

This is a brilliant pool and it deserves to remain open!

Outdoor pools are much healthier than the chlorine laden air of indoor pools. Keep it open and close other non essential services.
