What an utterly foolish thing to do! For the sake of a few thousand pounds a facility that promotes health, wellbeing and fitness is closed? What a travesty. The council members who approved this decision should be voted out of office at the first possible opportunity and replaced with people who have the common sense to see that the Holywellmead pool should be treasured as a fantastic resource for Wycombe.

This pool is worth keeping. Reopen the pool and let us enjoy the outdoor swimming.

This pool MUST be reopened. Having made a trip to the lido at CHipping Norton today, I can only say what fantastic fun lidos are. The pool was packed and everyone was having a tremendous time.

Come on WDC ... give us back our pool

My wife and I started swimming outdoors a number of years ago when we regularly swam at the Tooting Bec Lido. We have since swam in many of the few remaining Lidos in the south-east and have happy memories of the Holywell Pool. It would be a great loss and very short sighted for Wycombe Council to let this facility go. Community and social considerations must come first.

I suspect there's a hidden reason behind WDC's closure of this important public facility - their long-planned sports centre perhaps? This is the council that will spend OUR money to re-site Wycombe Wanderers ground?

I support this campaign wholeheartedly, and intend to "put my money where my mouth is" if possible, to help get the pool re-opened ASAP in SOME way.

I moved to the area in 2008 and would love to have the pool remain open. I would also like it if my son could swim there.

Kind regards

There is something special about swimming in a lido - no horrible smell of chlorine for one thing - you can spend a whole day at a lido - you can't at an indoor overheated pool. BRING BACK MY POOL!
