Our group is holding a public meeting on Tuesday 13th October 7pm til 9pm at the Environment Centre next to the Holywell Mead Outdoor Pool on the Rye.
The meeting will explain what has happened since the decision was made to close the pool, an outline of the business plan that was subsequently declined and a discussion on a future way forward. This is where we need your help.
It is really important that you come and give your views so that our campaign group can take on board the opinion of local residents and supporters of the pool.
Please invite friends and neighbours so we can have a really useful discussion about how to save our pool.
Thank you for your continued support.

This is the chance for all supporters to stand up and be counted before it is too late! The pool would ususally be closed at this time of year and there is no reason why it should not re-open next Easter for the school holidays. Many people I speak to were unaware that Wycombe even had an open air pool so the profile it has had would enhance numbers.
We must make sure that 100s attend this meeting to say loud and clear :-
‘WE WANT OUR SWIMMING POOL OPEN AGAIN NEXT YEAR -NO EXCUSES!’
I was able to take advantage of this pool from the day it was opened untuil I left Wycombe in 2000 I urge the Council to retain this unique smimming pool to promote healthy outdoor excercise. If it were marketed and advertised WITH CONVICTION this pool would have a great future….. Please think again Council……
I have just returned from tonight’s meeting. I was encouraged by the huge turnout. Well done for the stirling work you have done so far.
Clearly the council are not best equipped to judge the merits of your business plan, seeing as they have not been able to run the pool successfully on their own. Yet again, the council members were unable to justify their actions convincingly.
I support your project, an open air pool is an important asset to any town. The committe have put a great deal of time and effort into the project so far but the meeting last night confirmed that all proposals from the committe have been rejected as not viable by the council & the council now intend to move on to make it another leisure project which is still be explored.
The reality seems to be that time is short and you don’t yet have enough expertise of your committe to deliver what the council needs. I can only think you have to make a huge last ditch attempt to get that expertise, make noise in the press etc ,surely wycombe has enough talent to pull a viable business plan together to take the swimming pool off the council. If you can’t make enough noise to unite the talent of Wycombe then the project seems to be lost. Good Luck
